Obama’s Lead Among ‘Catholic’ Voters Grows – Church Video Shows why this is so Wrong!

I mentioned the following poll to my priest after Mass last evening.  He thought the numbers reflect a lack of good shepherding. He did not think they applied to our parish but those in more urban areas.  I think Father is a very good shepherd but I had to disagree.  These ‘Catholics’ who support our baby-killing president ARE in our parish.  I know them.  They live in my neighborhood.  ‘You can’t be Catholic and Democrat’ – has never rung more true than it does today. Cafeteria Catholics pick and choose their values, but true Catholics will always value the sanctity of life and marriage.  I hope this poll, like many others, is skewed to favor the Obama team.  Please watch the following video BEFORE you vote!

According to Terence P. Jeffrey via CNSNews:

President Barack Obama has climbed from trailing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 4 points among Catholic voters in the weeks leading up to the Republican National Convention to currently leading Romney by six points among Catholic voters, according to the Gallup tracking poll.

Each week, Gallup releases a demographic breakdown of the support for the two major presidential candidates based on its previous three weeks of polling. In latest three week period (which ended on Sept. 23), Gallup surveyed 9,899 registered voters, including 2,148 who said they were Catholic.

Over that three week period, Obama led Romney 50 percent to 44 percent among Catholics. (Obama also leads Romney by 50 percent to 44 percent in the latest seven-day period in Gallup’s overall tracking poll of the presidential race.)

By contrast, in three consecutive three-week periods that ended in August (those that concluded on Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26), Romney led Obama 48 percent to 44 percent among Catholics.

The hurricane-delayed Republican National Convention started in Tampa, Fla., on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Since that convention, Romney’s support has eroded among Catholics as Obama’s has grown.

In the three week period that ended on Sept. 2 (which included the week of the Republican convention), Romney’s led Obama among Catholic registered 47 percent to 45 percent. In the three week period that ended on Sept. 9 (which included the week of the Democratic convention), Obama took a lead over Romney among Catholics, 47 percent to 45 percent. In the three-week period that ended on Sept. 16, Obama’s lead over Romney among Catholics grew to 49 percent to 44 percent. In the most recent three-week period, which ended on Sept. 23, Obama’s lead among Catholics grew to 50 percent to 44 percent.

I am not sure what has happened in recent weeks, but my Catholic friends need to wake up and take a moral stand, not just a political one.  The President is now forcing Catholic institutions to provide contraceptives and abortion pills to their employees. By violating the ‘Separation of Church and State’ as provided in the Constitution he has opened himself up to criticism and vetting by the Catholic Church. They have produced a powerful video on why Obama should not be re-elected!  PLEASE watch it and then tell me how any Christian could, in good conscience, vote for someone who devalues the sanctity of life and marriage.

Obama’s Stump Speech Myths (AKA – Dreams from My Presidency)

‘President Obama has a hard time telling the truth.’  Ya think???  He has given new meaning to the word ‘spin’ and has even received several Pinocchios from the very liberal Washington Post.  I wish I could be amazed at the lack of true journalism and reporting in our progressive media but sadly I am not.  Conservative news organizations and bloggers are the only ones willing to vet Obama and his ‘Dreams from My Presidency’ campaign speeches.  I often wonder if he is still doing a ‘little blow’ in his hallucinogenic make-believe world.  Thank you Brett Bozell for the following article from Townhall!

Barack Obama has trouble telling the truth.

This is the man who admitted his memoir “Dreams from My Father” was semifictional. “For the sake of compression, some of the characters that appear are composites of people I’ve known, and some events appear out of precise chronology.” Translation: On some pages, I’m taking poetic license with the facts to burnish my image.

The problem is, Obama’s still using poetic license. So where are the reporters to point out when he doesn’t tell the truth? Let’s take just one typical Obama stump speech, on July 5 in Sandusky, Ohio, and look for the fibs and stretches. They’re not hard to find.

1. There are the biographical tall tales. “My grandfather fought in Patton’s army.” In 2009, AP’s Nancy Benac noted that the president’s grandfather, Stanley Dunham, was in a supply and maintenance company, not in combat. That’s noble work, but “fought in Patton’s army” implies something else. Moreover, Benac reported Dunham’s company was assigned to Patton’s army for two months in 1945, and then quoted Obama’s own self-boosting memoir: “Gramps returned from the war never having seen real combat.” Why has Benac been alone in exploring this blatant exaggeration?

2. There are the policy myths. “So when folks said let’s go ahead and let the auto industry go bankrupt, we said no let’s bet on American workers. Let’s bet on American industries, and now, GM is back on top, and Chrysler is moving, and Ford is going strong.”

Put aside for a moment that GM being “on top” is a stretch. GM still owes the public $30 billion for the bailout. But the real screamer in that passage is Ford never succumbed to bankruptcy and bailouts and therefore shouldn’t be included in any boast of any sort of Obama achievements.

Some lines in the speech just sound ridiculous based on the last three and a half years, such as: “I want to balance our budget. I want to reduce our deficit, deal with our debt, but I want to do it in a balanced and responsible way.” This might not be strictly “false” — it’s opinion — but it’s certainly disingenuous. He said the same thing in 2008 and then delivered the biggest trillion-dollar deficit in history.

Obama also refuses to admit the failure of the “stimulus,” claiming in one passage, “I do want to rebuild our roads and our bridges” because it would “put a lot of people back to work — and that’s good for the entire economy.” Except, it’s demonstrably not true.

3. Then there are the religious myths. “When I first got my job as an organizer for the Catholic churches in Chicago … they taught me that no government program can replace good neighbors and people who care deeply about their communities (and) who are fighting on their behalf.”

In how many ways is this deeply insincere? Obama was hired by a Jewish Alinsky-ite leftist named Jerry Kellman for something called the Developing Communities Project, which did have Catholic support, but Obama’s own memoir described the community organizing work as a chance to “start to build power” — with a “hard-headedness” based on “politics, not religion.”

In his stump speech, Obama’s trying to create two false impressions: 1) That he’s not waging war on the Catholic Church with his Department of Health and Human Services mandate to force Catholics to fund contraceptives and sterilization against their conscience. 2) That he’s some sort of moderate about how government programs couldn’t possibly replace person-to-person private charity. If he were Catholic, he might be excommunicated.

4. Finally, there are the campaign myths. Obama bizarrely told the crowd in Sandusky “back in 2008, everybody said we couldn’t do it because we were outspent, we weren’t favored.” Did Obama mean in the primary race? By a slim margin, he outraised Hillary Clinton, who was the early favorite. But this spin is comical if it refers to the general election, where Obama outraised McCain $779 million to $347 million.

Then Obama added: “That first race that I ran as a state senator, Michelle and I, we were going around knocking on doors, passing out leaflets. Nobody gave us a shot. Everybody said, ‘Nobody can pronounce your name, how are you going to win?'” But Obama ran unopposed in 1996, both in the primary and the general election. In a burst of Chicago-style politics, Obama removed his primary opponents, including the incumbent state senator, Alice Palmer, from the ballot by challenging their signatures.

U.S. Bishops Prepare Catholics for Civil Disobedience: ‘We May Need to Witness to the Truth by Resisting the Law’

By Terence P.  Jeffrey via CNS News

(CNSNews.com) – Having organized 43 plaintiffs—including the archdioceses of New York  and Washington and the University of Notre Dame—to file 12 different  lawsuits against the Obama administration last Monday alleging the  administration is violating the religious freedom of Catholics, the  Catholic bishops of the United States are now preparing Catholics for  what may be the most massive campaign of civil disobedience in this  country since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and early 1960s.

“Some unjust laws impose such injustices on individuals and  organizations that disobeying the laws may be justified,” the bishops  state in a document developed to be inserted into church bulletins in  Catholic parishes around the country in June.

“Every effort must be made to repeal them,” the bishops say in the  document, which is already posted on the website of the U.S. Conference  of Catholic Bishops. “When fundamental human goods, such as the right of  conscience, are at stake, we may need to witness to the truth by  resisting the law and incurring its penalties.”

The bulletin insert reminds Catholic parishioners that the bishops  have called for “A Fortnight of Freedom”—which  they have described as “a special period of prayer, study, catechesis,  and public action”—to take place from June 21 to July 4.

The bishops  have noted that June 21, when this fortnight will begin, is the Vigil of the Feast of St. John Fisher and  St. Thomas More. Fisher was a Roman Catholic cardinal  whom the English monarch  Henry VIII beheaded in 1535 after he refused to act against his conscience and  take an oath asserting that Henry was the supreme authority over the  church in England. That same year, Henry VIII also beheaded Thomas More, his former  chancellor, for the same reason.

The sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate is set to go into effect for most health-care plans on Aug. 1, about four weeks after the bishops’ “Fortnight of Freedom.”

In campaign speeches delivered this week after the Catholic dioceses and organizations filed their 12 lawsuits, both President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama indicated that the administration intends to move forward and enforce the mandate.

Mrs. Obama  brought it up in a stump speech in Cleveland on Monday afternoon, less than three hours after the Catholic bishops had announced their lawsuits.

“You can tell people how, because we passed health reform, insurance  companies  will now have to cover preventive care–have to,” said Mrs. Obama.  “Things  like contraception,  cancer screenings, prenatal care–and they have  to do it at no extra cost.   People have to understand that’s what that  fight was for.”

President Obama signaled his personal commitment to enforcing the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate, using virtually identical language about it in back-to-back campaign speeches Wednesday and Thursday in California and Iowa.

“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to  choose, or  getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking  away affordable  birth control,” Obama said.  “We don’t need that. I  want women to control their  own health choices, just like I want my  daughters to have the same economic  opportunities as my sons.  We’re  not turning back the clock. We’re  not going back there.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

While detained, King, who was a Baptist minister, wrote his  “Letter from the Birmingham Jail,” in which he said the moral  justification for civil disobedience against Alabama’s segregation laws  was derived from the writings of the Roman Catholic saints Augustine and Thomas Aquinas.

“During the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, Americans  shone the light of the Gospel on a dark history of slavery, segregation, and racial bigotry,” the Catholic bishops say in their bulletin insert.  “The civil rights movement was an essentially religious movement, a call  to awaken consciences.

“In his famous ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’ in 1963,” the bishops  says, “Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. boldly said, ‘The goal of America is  freedom.’ As a Christian pastor, he argued that to call America to the  full measure of that freedom was the specific contribution Christians  are obliged to make. He rooted his legal and constitutional arguments  about justice in the long Christian tradition: ‘I would agree with Saint  Augustine that ‘An unjust law is no law at all.’… A just law is a  man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An  unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law.’”

The bishops have argued that elements of the Patient Protection and  Affordable Care Act—AKA Obamacare—including the  so-called “preventive services” mandate, would force faithful Catholics  to act against their consciences and the teachings of their church. The  mandate requires that virtually all health-care plans in the United  States cover, without any fees or co-pay, sterilizations and all Food  and Drug Administration-approved contraceptives, including those that  cause abortions.

The bishops also object to the manner in which Obamacare deals with  abortion generally. In April, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops  issued a background paper explaining how Obamacare not only would use tax dollars to fund abortions but would also force  Americans to pay for abortions with the premiums they would pay to purchase health  insurance—which under Obamacare they are mandated to do. The  backgrounder was titled, “The New Federal Regulation on Coerced Abortion  Payments.”

Additionally, the bishops object to the so-called “religious”  exemption to the mandate that requires all health-care plans cover  sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients. That exemption only  applies to “religious” organizations that are primarily focused on  inculcating religious tenets and that serve and employ primarily members  of their own denomination. This “religious” exemption would not extend  to Catholic schools, universities, hospitals, and charitable  organizations—and, the bishops argue, it violates the Establishment  Clause of the First Amendment by empowering federal bureaucrats to  determine which religious institutions are truly “religious” and which  ones are not.

In their bulletin insert, the bishops unequivocally state that the  administration’s sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate would  force people to act against their consciences.

“This is a matter  of whether religious people and institutions may be forced by the  government to provide such coverage even when it violates our  consciences,” say the bishops.

“What we ask is nothing more than the right to follow our consciences  as we live out our teaching,” they say.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius first announced the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient regulation last August. At that time, the bishops submitted formal comments to HHS, calling the regulation an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” and asking the administration to rescind it in its entirety.

After Sebelius finalized the regulation in January, many Catholic bishops around the country asked their priests to read a letter from the pulpit at Sunday Masses that said: “We cannot–we will not–comply with this unjust law.”

Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who leads the Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services wrote a letter that he asked all Catholic chaplains to read at Sunday masses at U.S. military facilities across the globe. Broglio’s letter not only said “we will not” comply with the law, it also said: “It is a blow to a freedom that you have fought to defend and for which you have seen your buddies fall in battle.”

As reported by CNSNews.com, the Army told Army chaplains not to read this letter in Mass, a move that Archdiocese for the Military Services described as a violation of the First Amendment rights of Archbishop Broglio and Catholic chaplains.

In the April backgrounder, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop  said that another regulation issued by the Obama administration in March of this  year confirmed what the bishops had said about Obamacare when it was up  for a vote in 2010 and they opposed its passage.

“While some have misunderstood or misrepresented the Act’s role in  funding abortions, the new rule confirms that analyses by the Catholic  bishops’ conference were accurate on this point,” said the backgrounder.

“Under this Act,” it says, “millions of American taxpayers will be forced to help  support abortion coverage, in two ways:  (1) Through their tax dollars  all taxpayers will be forced to subsidize overall health plans that  cover elective abortions, contrary to the policy of the Hyde amendment  and every other major federal program, and (2) Many of these Americans  will also be forced to pay directly for other people’s abortions. Some  will say this is technically not ‘tax funding of abortions,’ because the  required surcharge will be a premium payment rather than a tax payment  as such. But what the payment is called is less important than what it actually does.”

The day after releasing this analysis, the bishops issued “A  Statement on Religious Liberty,” that explained the Catholic belief that  “an unjust law cannot be obeyed” and called for Catholics to join in  what the bishops called “A Fortnight of Freedom” that will run from June  21 to July 4.

June 21, the bishops pointed out, is the vigil of the Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More.

“We suggest that the fourteen days from June 21—the vigil of the  Feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More—to July 4, Independence  Day, be dedicated to this ‘fortnight for freedom’—a great hymn of prayer  for our country,” said the bishops.

“Our liturgical calendar celebrates a series of great martyrs who  remained faithful in the face of persecution by political power—St. John  Fisher and St. Thomas More, St. John the Baptist, SS. Peter and Paul,  and the First Martyrs of the Church of Rome,” said the bishops.  “Culminating on Independence Day, this special period of prayer, study,  catechesis, and public action would emphasize both our Christian and  American heritage of liberty.”

“It is a sobering thing to contemplate our government enacting an  unjust law,” the bishops said. “An unjust law cannot be obeyed. In the  face of an unjust law, an accommodation is not to be sought, especially  by resorting to equivocal words and deceptive practices. If we face  today the prospect of unjust laws, then Catholics in America, in  solidarity with our fellow citizens, must have the courage not to obey  them. No American desires this. No Catholic welcomes it. But if it  should fall upon us, we must discharge it as a duty of citizenship and  an obligation of faith.”

America’s Most Biblically-Hostile U. S. President

By David Barton via Wall Builders

When one observes President Obama’s unwillingness to accommodate America’s four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Christian. But that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics, Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor. In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.

Listed below in chronological order are (1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military; (3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam’s activities and positions, including letting his Islamic advisors guide and influence his hostility toward people of Biblical faith.

1. Acts of hostility toward people of Biblical faith:

  • April 2008 – Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying they “cling to guns or religion” and have an “antipathy to people who aren’t like them.” 1
  • February 2009 – Obama announces plans to revoke conscience protection for health workers who refuse to participate in medical activities that go against their beliefs, and fully implements the plan in February 2011. 2
  • April 2009 – When speaking at Georgetown University, Obama orders that a monogram symbolizing Jesus’ name be covered when he is making his speech. 3
  • May 2009 – Obama declines to host services for the National Prayer Day (a day established by federal law) at the White House. 4
  • April 2009 – In a deliberate act of disrespect, Obama nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican; of course, the pro-life Vatican rejected all three. 5
  • October 19, 2010 – Obama begins deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions. 6
  • November 2010 – Obama misquotes the National Motto, saying it is “E pluribus unum” rather than “In God We Trust” as established by federal law. 7
  • January 2011 – After a federal law was passed to transfer a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert to private ownership, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that the cross in the memorial could continue to stand, but the Obama administration refused to allow the land to be transferred as required by law, and refused to allow the cross to be re-erected as ordered by the Court. 8
  • February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from Congress. 9
  • April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage of a non-discrimination law that does not contain hiring protections for religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus eliminating conscience protection in hiring. 10
  • August 2011 – The Obama administration releases its new health care rules that override religious conscience protections for medical workers in the areas of abortion and contraception. 11
  • November 2011 – Obama opposes inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial. 12
  • November 2011 – Unlike previous presidents, Obama studiously avoids any religious references in his Thanksgiving speech. 13
  • December 2011 – The Obama administration denigrates other countries’ religious beliefs as an obstacle to radical homosexual rights. 14
  • January 2012 – The Obama administration argues that the First Amendment provides no protection for churches and synagogues in hiring their pastors and rabbis. 15
  • February 2012 – The Obama administration forgives student loans in exchange for public service, but announces it will no longer forgive student loans if the public service is related to religion. 16

2. Acts of hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:

  • June 2011 – The Department of Veterans Affairs forbids references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at Houston National Cemetery. 17
  • August 2011 – The Air Force stops teaching the Just War theory to officers in California because the course is taught by chaplains and is based on a philosophy introduced by St. Augustine in the third century AD – a theory long taught by civilized nations across the world (except America). 18
  • September 2011 – Air Force Chief of Staff prohibits commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains. 19
  • September 2011 – The Army issues guidelines for Walter Reed Medical Center stipulating that “No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading materials and/or facts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.” 20
  • November 2011 – The Air Force Academy rescinds support for Operation Christmas Child, a program to send holiday gifts to impoverished children across the world, because the program is run by a Christian charity. 21
  • November 2011 – The Air Force Academy pays $80,000 to add a Stonehenge-like worship center for pagans, druids, witches and Wiccans. 22
  • February 2012 – The U. S. Military Academy at West Point disinvites three star Army general and decorated war hero Lieutenant General William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin (retired) from speaking at an event because he is an outspoken Christian. 23
  • February 2012 – The Air Force removes “God” from the patch of Rapid Capabilities Office (the word on the patch was in Latin: Dei). 24
  • February 2012 – The Army orders Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners that their archbishop asked them to read. 25

3. Acts of hostility toward Biblical values:

  • January 2009 – Obama lifts restrictions on U.S. government funding for groups that provide abortion services or counseling abroad, forcing taxpayers to fund pro-abortion groups that either promote or perform abortions in other nations. 26
  • January 2009 – President Obama’s nominee for deputy secretary of state asserts that American taxpayers are required to pay for abortions and that limits on abortion funding are unconstitutional. 27
  • March 2009 – The Obama administration shut out pro-life groups from attending a White House-sponsored health care summit. 28
  • March 2009 – Obama orders taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. 29
  • March 2009 – Obama gave $50 million for the UNFPA, the UN population agency that promotes abortion and works closely with Chinese population control officials who use forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations. 30
  • May 2009 – The White House budget eliminates all funding for abstinence-only education and replaces it with “comprehensive” sexual education, repeatedly proven to increase teen pregnancies and abortions. 31 He continues the deletion in subsequent budgets. 32
  • May 2009 – Obama officials assemble a terrorism dictionary calling pro-life advocates violent and charging that they use racism in their “criminal” activities. 33
  • July 2009 – The Obama administration illegally extends federal benefits to same-sex partners of Foreign Service and Executive Branch employees, in direction violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 34
  • September 16, 2009 – The Obama administration appoints as EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum, who asserts that society should “not tolerate” any “private beliefs,” including religious beliefs, if they may negatively affect homosexual “equality.” 35
  • July 2010 – The Obama administration uses federal funds in violation of federal law to get Kenya to change its constitution to include abortion. 36
  • August 2010 – The Obama administration Cuts funding for 176 abstinence education programs. 37
  • September 2010 – The Obama administration tells researchers to ignore a judge’s decision striking down federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. 38
  • February 2011 – Obama directs the Justice Department to stop defending the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 39
  • March 2011 – The Obama administration refuses to investigate videos showing Planned Parenthood helping alleged sex traffickers get abortions for victimized underage girls. 40
  • July 2011 – Obama allows homosexuals to serve openly in the military, reversing a policy originally instituted by George Washington in March 1778. 41
  • September 2011 – The Pentagon directs that military chaplains may perform same-sex marriages at military facilities in violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. 42
  • October 2011 – The Obama administration eliminates federal grants to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for their extensive programs that aid victims of human trafficking because the Catholic Church is anti-abortion. 43

4. Acts of preferentialism for Islam:

  • May 2009 – While Obama does not host any National Day of Prayer event at the White House, he does host White House Iftar dinners in honor of Ramadan. 44
  • April 2010 – Christian leader Franklin Graham is disinvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer Event because of complaints from the Muslim community. 45
  • April 2010 – The Obama administration requires rewriting of government documents and a change in administration vocabulary to remove terms that are deemed offensive to Muslims, including jihad, jihadists, terrorists, radical Islamic, etc. 46
  • August 2010 – Obama speaks with great praise of Islam and condescendingly of Christianity. 47
  • August 2010 – Obama went to great lengths to speak out on multiple occasions on behalf of building an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero, while at the same time he was silent about a Christian church being denied permission to rebuild at that location. 48
  • 2010 – While every White House traditionally issues hundreds of official proclamations and statements on numerous occasions, this White House avoids traditional Biblical holidays and events but regularly recognizes major Muslim holidays, as evidenced by its 2010 statements on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha. 49
  • October 2011 – Obama’s Muslim advisers block Middle Eastern Christians’ access to the White House. 50
  • February 2012 – The Obama administration makes effulgent apologies for Korans being burned by the U. S. military, 51 but when Bibles were burned by the military, numerous reasons were offered why it was the right thing to do. 52

Many of these actions are literally unprecedented – this is the first time they have happened in four centuries of American history. The hostility of President Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president.

Obama’s More Deferential to Afghan Muslims Than American Catholics

By Terence P. Jeffrey via CNSNews

Here is a simple question with an obvious answer: Is President Barack  Obama more deferential to the religious sensibilities of Afghan Muslims or the religious freedom of American Catholics?

The answer:  Obama is more deferential to the religious sensibilities of Muslims in  Afghanistan than to the religious freedom of Catholics in the United States.

Let’s stipulate a point of principle out front:  People should not burn Korans, period. To burn a Koran, whether as a  premeditated act of spite or as a boneheaded mistake, is wrong.

That  being said, the Korans burned at Bagram Air Force in Afghanistan were  burned as the result of a boneheaded mistake–not as a conscious effort  to affront Muslims.

Here in the United States, President  Obama’s decision to order Roman Catholics to act against the teachings of  their faith by forcing Catholics to buy insurance that pays  for sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortifacients was not  made by mistake. Obama did it with long and careful premeditation–fully  understanding that the Catholic Church would (correctly) perceive the regulation as a very serious and direct attack on  the free exercise of religion by Catholics.

We know this  because from August to February, the Catholic bishops of the United  States repeatedly warned the Obama administration directly and through  public statements that the administration’s sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate was an  attack on the religious liberty of Catholics and that Catholics would  adamantly oppose it as an attack on their religious liberty.

In  official comments delivered to HHS on Aug. 31, the Catholic bishops  said: “Indeed, such nationwide government coercion of religious people  and groups to sell, broker, or purchase ‘services’ to which they have a  moral or religious objection represents an unprecedented attack on  religious liberty.”

On Sept. 30, the Catholic bishops  distributed a call-to-action sheet in church bulletins across the nation.  It said that Obama’s sterilization-contraception-abortfacient mandate  “poses an unprecedented threat to individual and institutional religious  freedom” and called on Catholics to contact HHS to urge the  administration to rescind the mandate in its entirety.

In  January, most of America’s Catholic bishops asked that their parish  priests read a letter from the pulpit denouncing Obama’s regulation. The  letter said in part: “In so ruling, the Administration has cast aside the  First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to  Catholics our Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of  religious liberty.”

“We cannot–we will not–comply with this unjust law,” the bishops said.

Obama  did not respond by apologizing to Catholics. Instead, he responded  by finalizing the regulation, thus moving forward with an unambiguous  effort to deny Catholics the free exercise of religion guaranteed by the  Constitution that Obama swore to uphold.

Bishop David  Zubik of Pittsburgh summed up Obama’s action this way: “The Obama  administration has just told the Catholics of the United States,‘To Hell  with you!’ There is no other way to put it.”

“This is  government by fiat that attacks the rights of everyone–not only  Catholics; not only people of all religion,” said Bishop Zubik. “At no  other time in memory or history has there been such a governmental  intrusion on freedom not only with regard to religion, but  even across-the-board with all citizens.”

In a letter to  Americans serving in the military, including those serving in  Afghanistan, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who leads the Roman Catholic  Archdiocese for the Military Services, summed up Obama’s regulation this  way: “It is a blow to a freedom that you have fought to defend and for  which you have seen your buddies fall in battle.”

The Obama  Defense Department tried to censor Archbishop Broglio’s  letter—thus compounding one violation of the First Amendment (abridging  the free exercise of religion) with another (abridging the freedom of  speech).

As outspoken as they were in declaring that the  Obama administration was violating the rights of Catholics with its  regulation, the Catholic bishops did not call anybody into the streets.  They did not incite riots. They did not sanction or condone any kind of  violence or destruction of property. They simply called for this: That  Americans should use the constitutional rights we still have to  peacefully address our government and ask that our right to the free  exercise of our religion be respected and restored by those who have  sworn an oath to God to do so.

The peaceful, articulate,  intellectually and morally powerful pleas of faithful Catholics in this  country—and of those of other denominations who have joined with  Catholics in calling for respect for religious liberty—have been ignored  by President Obama even as they have been distorted and mocked by some of  his allies in Congress.

How different was the administration’s response to the outrage of Muslims in Afghanistan?

After  it was revealed earlier this week that American forces at Bagram Air  Base in Afghanistan had mistakenly burned some Korans, Gen. John Allen,  the U.S.commander in that country, recorded a video profusely  apologizing to Muslims and announcing that he had launched an  investigation of the incident.

“To the noble people of  Afghanistan: I have ordered an investigation into a report I received  during the night that ISAF personnel at Bagram Air Base improperly  disposed of a large number of Islamic religious materials which included  Korans,” said Gen.Jones. “When we learned of these actions, we  immediately intervened and stopped them. The materials recovered will be  properly handled by appropriate religious authorities.

“We  are thoroughly investigating the incident and we are taking steps to  ensure this does not ever happen again,” said Gen. Jones. “I assure  you–I promise you–this was NOT intentional in any way.

“I  offer my sincere apologies for any offense this may have caused, to the  president of Afghanistan, the government of the Islamic Republic of  Afghanistan, and most importantly, to the noble people of Afghanistan,”  said Gen. Jones.

“I would like to thank the local Afghan  people who helped us identify the error, and who worked with us to  immediately take corrective action,” he said.

Following  the general’s apology there were demonstrations in the streets across  Afghanistan, and a man in an Afghan Army uniform shot and killed two American  soldiers.

Then President Obama dispatched an ambassador  with a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai to personally apologize  for the mistaken, boneheaded burning of the Korans.

The Taliban responded by calling for American troops to be killed, beaten and captured.

Obama,  meanwhile, is moving forward with his presidential command that American  Catholics must act against their faith by purchasing coverage for  sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients–drugs that take the  lives of innocent unborn children.

It is plain as day:  Obama is more deferential to the religious sensibilities of Muslims in  Afghanistan than he is to the constitutionally protected religious  liberty of Catholics in the United States of America.

Just a Taste of a Second Obama Term

By Doug Patton via Canada Free Press

First, he came for the General Motors bondholders, but the religious leaders were not GM bondholders, so they did not speak up. Then he came for the oil companies, but they were not oil company executives, and again they did not speak up. Next, he came for control of the nation’s health care system, and again they saw no threat — in fact, many of them supported his plan.

We were told we had to pass the plan to could find out what was in it. Then he came for our freedom of religion, and we found out what was in it: pure, unadulterated tyranny.

In a stunning exercise of raw, unconstitutional power, Barack Obama now tells people of faith that their rights do not come from God, as guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence and the First Amendment to the Constitution, but rather from him. The right to practice one’s religion is now codified in the so-called Affordable Care Act of 2010, otherwise known as Obamacare.

Last week, Obama announced that religious organizations would be required to include birth control and abortifacient devices and medications in the health care plans they provide for their employees. When it became clear that America’s Christian leaders would not stand for this, Obama is said to have “backed down.” In reality, he did no such thing.

What the president did was to call a press conference to announce his “compromise.” Rather than religious institutions being forced to provide these services directly, Obama decreed, their insurance companies would be compelled to do so — at no cost to the employee.

While making the rounds of the Sunday talk shows, White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew said, in essence, that insurance companies should be happy to give these services away “free” since it costs less not to have babies than it does to have them. As for the president, he clearly believes his power to dictate such things under Obamacare trumps the Constitution’s authority to stop him.

Do not believe for a minute that Barack Obama intends anything but a wholesale takeover of this nation’s health care system. He is on record as favoring a single-payer plan similar to what is in place in Canada and Great Britain.

The president is fully aware that Obamacare’s mandates are driving up the cost of private health insurance, thereby ultimately forcing all Americans into a one-size-fits-all government run plan. Obama also knows that many religious organizations are self-insuring. That means that the costs associated with health care for their employees come directly out of the pockets of the church itself.

Obama is a master divider

There may be a difference of opinion between Catholic doctrine and the teachings of most evangelical churches on the issue of birth control, but these denominations are in lockstep on the issue of refusing to pay for abortion-inducing drugs. Some of their leaders have sworn to go to prison rather than violate this principle.

Obama is a master divider, and I believe that once he has convinced a majority of American women that contraception is a “right” that should be free, he can then divide people of faith against one other and against their own church leaders. He also believes that persuading a few liberal Catholic groups to support his “compromise” ends the discussion. Someone compared this to forcing all Jews to eat pork chops just because some of them don’t keep kosher.

It is long past time that Christian leaders stood up in their pulpits and declared that a vote for Barack Obama is a vote against God. Just imagine if every Bible believing minister in America made that announcement to their congregations the Sunday before the election. Then, try to imagine what a second Obama term might look like.
