Obama Falsely Blames Bush for Fast and Furious

The blame game continues!  Yesterday President Obama blamed former president George Bush for the current “Fast and Furious”  government gun-running scandal during a town hall meeting hosted by Univision at  the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.  We have four dead embassy officials and a dead border patrol agent – and Obama is still blaming a video and George Bush!!!

According to the Digital Journal:

“I think it’s important for us to understand that the “Fast and Furious” program  was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration,” the  president said. “When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned a inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued,  confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and the people who did initiate this were held accountable,” said Mr. Obama.

The “Fast and Furious” program was  actually started in October 2009, nine months after Obama came to office,  according to an ABC  OTUS News report.

While similar but more successful  programs involving ATF agents were conducted during the Bush administration they  were completely separate operations, not part of the Obama administration’s  “field-initiated program,” as Obama told the crowd. Also, there were no  Americans killed in such a program under Bush.

After the president’s falsehood was  pointed out, White House officials did not respond to a request for comment  by media.
Regarding Obama’s embattled Attorney  General a White  House spokesman said inside investigators “concluded that although Attorney  General Holder was notified immediately of (Border Patrol) Agent (Brian) Terry’s  shooting and death, he was not told about the connection between the firearms  found at the scene of the shooting and Operation “Fast and Furious.”

We determined that Attorney General  Holder did not learn of that fact until sometime in 2011, after he received Sen.  Grassley’s January 27 letter. Senior Department officials were aware of this  significant and troubling information by December 17, 2010, but did not believe  the information was sufficiently important to alert the Attorney General about  it or to make any further inquiry regarding this development.”

Although Attorney General Eric Holder feels he has been exonerated by the recent Inspector General’s report, ABC News feels otherwise:

…this was not entirely an exoneration of the Justice Department run by Mr. Holder. “We found it troubling that a case of this magnitude, and one that affected Mexico so significantly was not directly briefed to the Attorney General,” the report stated.

In addition to specific disciplinary measures, the Inspector General “made six recommendations designed to increase the Department’s involvement in and oversight of ATF operations, improve coordination among the Department’s law enforcement components, and enhance the Department’s wiretap application review and authorization process. The OIG intends to closely monitor the department’s progress in implementing these recommendations.”

Obama Bogged Down by Scandals

By Phyllis Schlafly via Eagle Forum

Increasing public disapproval of Barack Obama is based not only on his extravagant spending that hangs debt like an albatross around the necks of our children and grandchildren.  He is presiding over the most scandal-ridden administration in decades, from Colombia to Las Vegas, to the Mexican border, to Solyndra, and more.

The Secret Service’s prostitution party in Colombia is an international embarrassment.  It’s not sufficient punishment that a few guilty men have been allowed to resign or retire with benefits because many questions are still crying to be answered.

Who arranged the party at the now-notorious Pley Club Cartagena, which apparently supplied enough girls for eleven Secret Service and ten U.S. military men staying in separate rooms at the historic Hotel Caribe, where prostitution is openly tolerated?

Is there any connection between this moral scandal and our recent trade agreement with Colombia?  Were there any similar parties to con the United States into going along with this free-trade deal favorable to Colombia?

Another embarrassing scandal is the General Services Administration’s $823,000 junket to Las Vegas.  Obama Administration bureaucrats apparently think parties are perks that go along with their jobs.

Living high on the hog, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has been charging the Pentagon $32,000 per flight to jet to California every few weeks.  And don’t forget the half-billion-dollar gift to Solyndra before it took bankruptcy and left U.S. taxpayers on the hook.

“Fast and Furious” turned out to be a bloody scandal after the U.S. Justice Department okayed the sale of guns to Mexican drug cartels, under the ridiculous excuse that this would give us the opportunity to get more information about the drug dealers.  Somebody should be held accountable for the fact that one of these U.S. guns was used to murder U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

Operation Fast and Furious allowed over 2,000 weapons to be smuggled to the violent Mexican drug cartels.  A new book by investigative journalist Katie Pavlich, called “Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-up,” asserts that a third gun was involved whose existence was covered up by the FBI and the Justice Department.

Another scandal is that the Obama Administration is suing several states.  We need more aggressive Tenth Amendment advocates to publicize and overturn these travesties.

Obama is suing Arizona to try to knock out its law to protect its citizens against illegal aliens, a law that polls show Americans support by two-to-one.  The U.S. Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments this week.

The Arizona law allows local law enforcement to question the legal status of anyone who is stopped on suspicion of a crime, and then detain anyone who cannot prove legal U.S. residency.  Illegal immigration is already a federal crime, and the Arizona law is an attempt to do some enforcement that the feds are failing to do.

The Obama Administration wants the courts to prevent the states from enforcing laws that Obama refuses to enforce.  Similar lawsuits have been filed against Alabama, Georgia, and Utah.

In the Supreme Court case against Arizona, nine states have filed amicusbriefs supporting Arizona, including Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma and South Carolina.  They say they “have a manifest interest in ensuring that their sovereignty is accorded proper respect,” and that each state should be able to decide for itself how to protect its citizens from the crime and costs associated with illegal aliens.

Amicusbriefs from foreign governments opposing the Alabama and Georgia laws were filed by Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El  Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru.  We need federal and state laws to prevent our courts from considering foreign laws, treaties, court decisions, or briefs in interpreting U.S. laws.

It looks like voter fraud is one of the ways that Barack Obama plans to be reelected in November.  He has had his Justice Department block Texas and South Carolina laws that require showing a photo ID in order to vote, even though polls report that 70 percent of Americans support voter ID.

In defending Texas’s law, Governor Rick Perry said it “requires nothing more extensive than the type of photo identification necessary to receive a library card or board an airplane.”  At least eight states have passed similar laws, and even the liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Arizona’s 2004 ballot initiative requiring voters to show photo ID in order to vote.

The Constitution makes it a major duty of the President to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”  Despite the fact the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is the law of the land, passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, Obama is instead ordering his Justice Department not to defend this law in court.

Source at DOJ leaks documents in Fast and Furious scandal

By  via The Examiner

Citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh, who first broke the Fast and Furious  scandal story in December 2010, is reporting this afternoon that a source inside  the Justice Department has leaked a series of documents to Congressional  officials who are investigating the scandal.

The leak would be a major break in the case and would fuel an escalation in  the investigation into the scandal in which the Obama Administration placed U.S.  guns directly into the hands of Mexican criminals in order to make a case for  new gun control laws.

According to William Lajeunesse at Fox News, the  investigation into Fast and Furious now includes the FBI.

Records show that the FBI failed to inform the ATF that its own confidential  informants were helping pay for the purchase of the firearms that were sent to  Mexico.

As reported previously, the so called ‘big fish’ drug kingpins in Mexico that  the Fast and Furious operation supposedly targeted for arrest were in fact paid  FBI informants. But apparently the FBI failed to notify ATF agents on the ground  that the cartel drug lords were working with the Feds.

However, this does not answer the question as to how much supervisors high in  the ATF knew about the FBI operation. Attorney General Eric Holder has not held  accountable any of the ATF supervisors who provided oversight to the operation.  Instead, they were apparently rewarded for their actions due to the fact that  Holder transferred them to cushy jobs inside the Department of Justice.

What, exactly, did these former ATF supervisors know about the FBI’s  involvement?

When Senator Charles Grassley, R-IA, was informed of the secret document leak  yesterday, he stated,

“You are getting at the very basis of this investigation,” Senator Charles Grassley said Friday.

“But I have to wait till we have all the information before we bring down the  hammer.”

Grassley first revealed in September 2011 the FBI, knew, but failed to tell  the ATF, it’s informants were part of the gun trafficking ring. Then in  February, Grassley called them “the big fish” ATF had been looking for the  entire time.

Earlier  in the week it was reported that the ATF had captured and released  a Mexican criminal with a long history of drug and gun smuggling in May of  2010.

That report, in addition to the leak of secret documents yesterday, prompted  one DOJ official to warn Congressman Darrell Issa, R-CA, that “we are deeply  disturbed that the sensitive law enforcement information…has entered the  public realm.”

Issa is leading the investigation into Fast and Furious in the U.S. House of  Representatives.

But according to the Fox News report, Issa made no apology for making public  the leak and instead declared that this is the type of information that his  committee has been seeking and that the Obama Administration has been hiding.

Notice! At my blog at The Liberty Sphere today I present an in depth  personal conservative manifesto delineating the acute danger America faces at  this hour. It is a dire warning to the serious reader who loves freedom and the  principles handed down to us by the Framers. Don’t miss it.

15 Questions The Mainstream Media Would Ask Barack Obama If He Were A Republican

By Jeff Carter via Towhnhall Finance

If you deny that there is liberal bias in the mainstream media, you are living under a rock. We saw George Stephanopolos take marching orders into debate questioning.

The only thing they don’t ask Republican candidates about much is economic questions and debt questions. Instead they ask horribly slanted, often irrelevant questions designed to make them look bad and help Obama. We’ve heard questions about contraceptives, religion, Newt’s angry ex-wife, Cain’s employees, Romney’s personal wealth, Gardasil, etc. Newt’s rise was because of the way he attacked the media and Obama in the debates because of the stupid and obviously planted questions.

So, what would happen if the mainstream media treated Barack Obama the exact same way they treat Republicans? The questions might sound a little something like this.

1) Numerous Mexican citizens and an American citizen have been murdered with weapons knowingly provided to criminals by our own government during Operation Fast and Furious. If Eric Holder was aware that was going on, do you think he should step down as Attorney General? Were you aware of Fast and Furious and if so, shouldn’t you resign?

2) In 2010 you said Solyndra, a company that donated heavily to your political campaign, was “leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.” Today, Solyndra is bankrupt and the taxpayers lost over $500 million on loans that your administration knew might never be paid off when you made them. How do you respond to citizens who say this is evidence of corruption in your administration?

3) Unions invested a lot of time and money in helping to get you elected. In return, unions gained majority control of Chrysler, the taxpayers lost $14 billion dollars on General Motors, and General Motors received a special $45 billion dollar tax break. What do you say to people who view this as corruption on a scale never before seen in American history?

4) Through dubious means you and your Democrat allies in Congress managed to force through an incredibly unpopular health care bill that helped lead to the worst election night for the Democrat Party in 50 years. Since the bill has passed, many of your claims about the bill have proven to be untrue. For example, we now know the bill won’t lower health care costs and despite your assurances to the contrary, big companies like McDonald’s say they may drop health care because of the health care reform. Congress has exempted themselves from the health care reform and instead has their own taxpayer-funded premium health care plan. Many large companies (that donate to Democrat political campaigns) have received special exemptions from the health care plan. Since the majority of the American people have rejected your health care reform and it doesn’t do what you said it would, shouldn’t you work with the Republicans to repeal it?

5) When you took office, the national average for one gallon of gas was $1.89 per gallon. Since then, you’ve demonized the oil industry, dramatically slowed offshore drilling, blocked ANWAR, and rejected the Keystone Pipeline. Now, gas is $3.54 per gallon and rising and is expected to reach $5 per gallon by May of this year. How much higher do you anticipate driving gas prices?

6) Occupy Wall Street has been protesting against Wall Street and the richest 1 percent in America. You are in the top 1 percent of income earners in America and you have collected more cash from Wall Street than any other President in history. So, aren’t you exactly the sort of politician that Occupy Wall Street wants to get rid of?

7) How do you decide which foreign leaders to submissively bow towards and why do you think that’s appropriate for an American President?

8) If they could, don’t you think the Nobel Committee would take back the Nobel Peace Prize that you were awarded after serving just one month in office?

9) You made bipartisanship one of the central themes of your campaign in 2008. Yet, you’ve worked to push bills through Congress with almost no Republican support, spent much less time negotiating with Congress than George Bush did, and you’ve said things like, “But, I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” Why did you decide to break your campaign promise to pursue bipartisanship?

10) America lost its AAA credit rating for the first time under your watch. What do you think you should have done differently to have prevented that historic failure?

11) You cut more than 500 billion dollars out of Medicare to fund your wildly unpopular health care reform bill. Given that Medicare is running in the red already, don’t you think it’s irresponsible to cut money out of one entitlement program, that millions of seniors depend on — to put it into a risky new entitlement program?

12) Back in July, you said, “Nobody’s looking to raise taxes right now. We’re talking about potentially 2013 and the out years.” Since you plan to raise taxes if you’re elected and you’ve had kind words for a value added tax, shouldn’t every American expect a tax increase if you’re reelected?

13) Why should the American people reelect you when your 10 year budget saddles America with more debt than all previous Presidents combined?

14) Your stimulus bill cost more in real dollars than the moon landing and the interstate highway system combined. Many prominent economists have concluded the stimulus plan was a total failure. What do we have to show for all of that money spent?

15) Members of your administration promised that the trillion dollar stimulus would keep unemployment under 8 percent. Instead, we’ve had 35+ months of 8% and above unemployment. Doesn’t that mean we wasted a trillion dollars on nothing?

The Pattern of Criminal Behavior Within the Department of Justice

By , Tupelo Tea Party Examiner, via The Examiner

In case anyone missed it, there is a growing pattern of heinous criminal behavior within the Obama Department of Justice.  We have in our midst a gang of pirates dressed as business men, in their Armani suits and Bruno Magli shoes, and pretending to be government officials.  They do their unimaginable crimes and then hide from prosecution behind the veil created by our cumbersome federal bureaucracy, claiming to know nothing, blaming everything on underlings, or denying that anything happened at all.

There are two items of an especially horrifying nature that should be fully brought to the attention of every registered voter in the United States of America.  These are the two known, failed, gun-running operations planned, promoted, and carried out by the Department of Justice under Eric HolderOperation Fast and Furious, and Operation White Gun.

Fast and Furious (F&F) has been the subject of numerous news articles and reports concerning the on-going investigation and hearings headed by Darryl Issa.  Holder has denied knowing anything about the operation which was carried out from within his department.  Over 2,000 weapons were allowed by the BAFTE to be illegally purchased by straw buyers, who then transported them into Mexico.  The DOJ lost track of most of these weapons, which includes various assault weapons and machine guns, and several of them have already turned up in evidence at the murder scenes of several Americans.

But there is another such operation, of which I have no doubt Eric Holder will deny any knowledge.  It was named Operation White Gun (WG).  The investigation is just getting under way on this one, but it appears to be eerily similar to F&F.  To use the vernacular of law enforcement, they have the same M.O. (modus operandi).  Use federal money to buy weapons and sell them to illegal buyers under the premise that the guns will be tracked, but then, for some unexplained reason, the guns get lost and go to drug dealers in Mexico.  Then, when the “fiasco” is discovered, deny, deny, deny.

Reports on WG do not include quantities of weapons involved, but they do identify that there may have been as much as $15 million involved in the budget available to the buyer.  If this budget was used up then we could be talking about far more weapons than with F&F.

The target of WG was supposedly Guzman Patino who was attempting to procure arms for the Sinaloa gang.  El Chapo Guzman Loera’s “criminal group sought to strengthen its arsenal with grenade launchers and .50-caliber machine guns,” said agent Hope A. MacAllister.  According to Wikipedia, “White Gun and Fast and Furious both began in the fall of 2009, and both cases were run by the same ATF officials.”

Wikipedia says, “In fall 2009, an ATF team sent an undercover agent posing as an arms dealer to Guzman Patino and photos of weapons, including a Dragon Fire 120-millimeter heavy mortar, were emailed to his ‘Superman6950’ Hotmail account.”  Guzman Patino told to the undercover agent that “if he would bring them a tank, they would buy it”.

After that meeting, Patino Guzman and the agent met again outside the restaurant in Phoenix, where the undercover seller showed the criminal five weapons in the trunk of his car , including a Ramo .50 heavy machine gun and a Bushmaster rifle.

At the point that Guzman Patino was ready to buy, BATFE records of the investigation into his activities ended for no reason.  Could it be for the purpose of “plausable deniability”?  Who knows?  But why would investigators be suddenly pulled off of a case when it is just about to yield its fruit?  Agents do not dictate which assignments they get.  Supervisors determine these things.  It is safe to assume that this is the case with WG.  Documents do not show why the investigation was halted, and they do not show if any guns were sold to Guzman, yet it is known that some “guns got away again”.

The U.S.attorney in Phoenixat the time, Dennis K. Burke, who later resigned over Fast and Furious, called the White Gun convictions “a tremendous team effort that put a stop to a well-financed criminal conspiracy to acquire massive destructive firepower.”

According to Steve Gill, “By that summer, [agent] MacAllister had gone to Mexico Cityto check the police and military vaults. The ATF documents don’t detail what she found, but they note she discovered ‘weapons in military custody related to her current investigations.’ ”

Does anyone see a pattern yet?  Can you spell “R-A-C-K-E-T-E-E-R-I-N-G” ?

Yes, then what are we going to do about it?

More importantly, what are YOU going to do about it?

As a Tea Party member, I am going to continue to beat this drum long and loud!

There are criminals in the White House.  There are criminals in the Department of Justice.

I remember reading Treasure Island, by R.L. Stevenson. In the book, pirate Long John Silver defines his fellow pirates as “gentlemen of fortune”.  We have gentlemen of fortune in our government!

Obama, Holder dedicated to controlling Americans’ weapons, says police group

By , Law Enforcement Examiner via The Examiner

“It appears those committed to attacking gun owners and the Second Amendment simply can’t help themselves and are engaged in blaming guns and gun owners on the heels of this terrorist attack.  Sadly it looks like ‘politics as usual.'”

In the wake of the Operation Fast and Furious gun-smuggling scandal and Attorney General Eric Holder‘s appearance before Congress to discuss the Fast & Furious scandal, the Obama administration appears even more intent on disarming American citizens in the name of public safety.

After explaining and defending his decision to give enemy combatants constitutional protections and the right to public trial in civilian courts in New York City, Attorney General Holder revealed his support for a national gun owner registration scheme and authorizing the government to ban firearm possession for any person by merely adding that person’s name to the terror watch list, Law Enforcement Alliance of America‘s president Ted Deeds said in a statement.

Drawing reasonable conclusions from what Holder publicly said, Deeds points out that:

Holder wants a national, permanent gun registration system administered by law enforcement.  A registration of honest citizens that have cleared the federal background check for gun purchases with those records permanently retained by and shared among law enforcement.

Holder wants new federal authority to prohibit any person on the federal watch list (reported to be 400,000 names) from buying guns and supports confiscating guns from those on the list who possess them.

General Holder testified before Congress: “The position of the Administration is that there should be a basis for law enforcement to share information about gun purchases.”

“… [It’s not] inconsistent to allow law enforcement agencies to share that kind of information, for that information to be retained and then to be shared by law enforcement.”  “It seems incongruous to me that we would bar certain people from flying on airplanes because they are on the terrorist watch list and yet we would still allow them to possess weapons.”

LEAA’s Executive Director Jim Fotis said, “Those behind the badge don’t believe more restrictions on honest gun owners is a reasonable, practical or constitutional response to acts of terrorism.  As a retired officer, I know that America’s men and women in blue want to fight terrorism, to stop terrorists; not waste time keeping records on innocent gun owners!”

Based in Virginia with over 65,000 members and supporters nationally, the Law Enforcement Alliance of America (LEAA) is the nation’s largest coalition of law enforcement professionals, crime victims, and concerned citizens dedicated to making America safer.

What could go wrong in a second Obama presidential term?

By , Tupelo Tea Party Examiner via The Examiner

What could go wrong?

I remember a movie from 1969 named “100 Rifles”.  Burt Reynolds plays  Yaqui Joe, an Indian who robs a bank in order to buy guns for his people who are  being savagely repressed by the government. Set in turn of the century Mexico,  it tells the story of his flight into Mexico and his pursuit by an American  lawman. They eventually become allies and team up with Raquel Welch to take up  the cause of the Indians.

The funny thing about this movie is that it is the perfect doppelganger to  the Fast and Furious Operation that was recently perpetrated by the DOJ and  BATFE.  How so, you say?  Let’s rewrite the script a little, well, ok,  a lot!

Yaqui Joe, played by Eric Holder, a rebel leader robs the government to pay  for illegal guns for the rebels of another country who are savagely suppressing  their own government and murdering Yaqui Joe’s own people without fear of  prosecution.  Set in “turn of the modern century” Mexico and the US, it  tells the story of the fight against him and the cover-up initiated by those  under his supervision, and the struggle of one lawman, Darryl Issa, to bring  them all to justice.  It is eventually learned that the President has long  been allied with Yaqui Joe, and the two team up with DOJ official Patrick  Cunningham to plead the Fifth Amendment to avoid incriminating themselves in  response to a bevy of subpoenas House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell  Issa has served on them that will compel them to appear before Congress about  Fast and Furious.

What could go wrong with a plan to surreptitiously use federal moneys to buy  illegal guns and pass them to a known criminal element with a penchant for  murdering innocent people, selling drugs, and waging war against its own  government and all authority?  What could go wrong with a plan like  that?

Answer:  Everything!

One would think that since Cunningham has been the chief of the criminal  division of the Arizona U.S. Attorney’s office in Phoenix for the past two  years, he would be a likely person to have first-hand knowledge of the  operation.  Issa has said that he has information indicating Cunningham was  instrumental in the approval of the gun walking scheme.

Cunningham has been refusing to testify before Congress about  Fast and Furious.  It is apparent that Cunningham does have pertinent  information.  When someone pleads the Fifth Amendment, is has historically  been a sign that there has been foul play.

Two sitting governors, every major Republican presidential candidate, and  eighty nine congressmen have given or committed to actions that demand for Eric  Holder, head of the DOJ, resign.  This is the head of the government agency  responsible for upholding the laws of the nation.  Yet a major portion of  government has no confidence in his ability, and or his honesty.

At least 300 people in Mexico were killed with Fast and Furious weapons, as  was Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. The identities of the Mexican victims are  unknown. Allegations have surfaced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement  agent Jaime Zapata was also killed with Fast and Furious weapons.

Cunningham is resigning on in late January to take another job.  One has  to wonder who would possibly hire a person who is on the verge of being the  target of a criminal investigation .

More than 1,400 of the weapons are still unaccounted for.

Two AK-47s from a gun shop in Glendale, Ariz., were discovered at the site of  the shooting death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry.  Terry was  killed during a Dec. 14, 2010, gunfight with Mexican bandits just north of the  border near Nogales, Ariz.

Now, these are the people, some of the people, that the current president has  put in office, Obama minions that have put their own interest above those of the  nation they are sworn to serve.  Barack Obama wants you to vote for him  again in the upcoming election.

Contrast this story and others like that of Solyndra, where some half a  billion US tax dollars were loaned on possibly fraudulent terms, with the  campaign promises made by Obama in the last election.  Did Obama actually  do anything he promised?  Or, did he do as he pleased, aided and abetted by  a Democrat-controlled Congress, in forcing on the American people a plan to  socialize a significant portion of the US economy, and possibly bankrupt the  government.

As I said, he wants to be reelected.  So, what could go wrong in a  second term for Obama?  What could go wrong?  What could go wrong with  continuing to trust this man?

Answer:  Everything!
